The Next Generation of Medical Care Begins Here
This is an exciting time to be part of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, as we work diligently to continue to expand the framework for a world class academic medical center and an international hub for biomedical science research right here in Palm Beach County. The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine is serving as a catalyst for the development of medical education and biomedical research, and facilitating the interaction between area hospitals, health care providers, research institutes and our surrounding communities. The college is uniquely positioned at the intersection of medicine, research and community collaboration. FAU's Schmidt College of Medicine is educating a new generation of physicians on the Boca Raton campus. Our affiliation with several area hospitals is providing FAU's medical students with invaluable hands-on experience, as well as access to some of the best physicians in the area. Collaboration with Scripps Florida is adding to the hub of biomedical growth in South Florida and providing a unique opportunity for our medical students in the joint M.D./Ph.D. program.

Types of Gifts
Outright Gifts
Gifts of cash are the simplest and most commonly received charitable contributions. Cash gifts may be used to honor or memorialize someone. Gifts of appreciated property, including securities and real estate, are popular with individuals seeking to manage capital gains taxes on appreciated assets with a market value well beyond the original purchase price. Gifts-in-kind of tangible personal property such as library collections, works of art, historical items, computers, musical instruments, and other items can be of great educational value to the college.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Matching Gifts are made by hundreds of corporations nationwide when their employees, retirees, board members and even these individuals' spouses contribute to charitable organizations. Contact the Human Resources office of your employer to see whether they have a matching gift program. In most cases, you complete a form that is mailed with your personal donation. We will follow-up with your company to secure the gift. Your giving record will reflect your company's matching gift as well as your own contribution.

When a contributor is interested in specific strategies for tax and estate planning, planned gifts to the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine provide many opportunities to accomplish personal goals while assisting the college in a substantial way. Naming Opportunities
A gift to a University provides the satisfaction of knowing that your generosity will influence the experience of all future generations of students and faculty. Naming is FAU's way of thanking those who have helped build and cultivate our University and its programs throughout its history. You can demonstrate your support of FAU's new medical school by participating in a naming opportunity. A gift to the medical school in the form of a naming opportunity will provide a unique opportunity to attach your name or the name of a loved one to the history of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, providing a lasting legacy, as well as supporting the future of the college by granting the financial assistance needed for facilities, programs and equipment. Our development staff will work closely with our donors of major gifts to identify a fitting and unique naming opportunity.
