After completing the educational program for the MD degree, our graduates will
demonstrate:

of clinical medicine by all physicians;

formulating an appropriate problem list, a set of competing hypotheses, and a

persons at risk for common and important health problems and to apply
appropriate preventive measures, including screening, health education, and
other forms of risk reduction;

management of health problems;

The Regional Campus goals are aligned with those of the main campus, but eight additional goals define the Continuity Medicine Curriculum:
- 1. Students will develop an understanding of the social and behavioral determinants of health and chronic disease within given populations.
- 2. Students will have experiences that emphasize geriatric patient care and will demonstrate competency in the geriatric competencies established by the Florida Consortium for Geriatric Education in Medicine (FCGEM).
- 3. Students will have an experience that emphasizes chronic disease management across the four years of the program. At the end of year 4, students will demonstrate specialized knowledge, skills and attitudes related to chronic disease management.
- 4. Students will use the time made available by the shortened curriculum to pursue research, special studies, or international health experiences.
- 5. Students will function effectively and efficiently as members of interdisciplinary health care teams that include a range of health care professionals.
- 6. Students will demonstrate competency in complex disease management using interprofessional health care teams.
- 7. Students will participate in the practice of population-based health care working with the Palm Beach County Department of Health.
