Internal Medicine Resident Salary and Benefits


  • PGY1: $54,600
  • PGY2: $56,400
  • PGY3: $58,300


  • Educational stipend: $1,200 per year
  • Training licensure: $200 onetime benefit
  • Residents receive 4 weeks of paid vacation (divided as 3 weeks of vacation and 5 personal days)
  • Resident meal credits up to $15 per day at each hospital
  • Residents are provided with an iPhone and service plan (paid by FAU)
  • Free onsite parking is available at all facilities
  • Life, disability, and malpractice insurance is covered by FAU
  • Lab coats provided by FAU
  • Membership to ACP and Palm Beach Medical Society
  • Washington Manual (provided at start of intern year)
  • Set of MKSAP books (during PGY3 year)
  • Resident national abstract presentations paid and supported by FAU (when first author)
  • ACLS/BLS certifications
  • Up to $500 for Board Review Course (during PGY3 year)
